A real estate investment firm that mostly specializes in apartment buildings and nursing homes has sold one of its few non-residential businesses and properties: a self-storage facility in West Seneca.
Tzetzo Companies, owned by principals Dimitri and Nicholas Tzetzo, sold the West Seneca Self-Storage property for $1.425 million to Charles W. Haring’s West Seneca Self Storage LLC, who will continue to run the business.
The 25-year-old gated facility at 1711 Union Road, just north of the Aurora Expressway, offers a range of different-sized units on its four-acre property. The complex consists of nine metal buildings, totaling 21,600 square feet of space, with 167 units, as well as recreational vehicle parking rental for 84 vehicles. There’s an additional acre of land available for development.
The Tzetzos – father and son – are attorneys, but have also developed some specialty in senior care and development. The elder partner, Dimitri J. Tzetzo, is a Buffalo native who served in the Judge Advocate General Department of the U.S. Air Force before starting his legal practice. He later led the development and ownership of the Westfield, Birchwood, Hamburg, Three Rivers, Aurora Park and Heathwood Health Care Centers, and developed Cathedral Park Tower in downtown Buffalo.
The group still owns Birchwood and Westfield, as well as the Fredonia Place assisted-living facility. They also own the 959 Ridge Road Apartments in Lackawanna, Highland Glen in Derby, Oakridge Estates in Seneca, the Kronenberg Building in Hamburg and the USDA Building in East Aurora.
